Hi folks,
I was able to pick up a great Rudy Meinl F tuba a month or two ago. Great tuba. I've been experimenting with a few mouthpieces, but thought I'd see what people who own this horn use on theirs? Currently on a pt65 but not a huge fan. I use a Sellmansberger on my CC so I was thinking about heading down that route, but any starting point is appreciated.
*forgot to snag a picture after I wrapped up my session, but if it helps, it's the 4+2 setup. 6th on top and 5th on bottom

You might consider the Rudy Meinl 9. It's an excellent mouthpiece that was made for their F tubas. Lee Stofer sells them, or at least used to.

Over the years on a rotor F tuba I keep coming back to the Giddings Baer MMVI Solo. I haven't played these yet, but you might also check out the new Dillon Roylance F models. I believe Mike Roylance plays a RM F so it might work for you too. Best of luck!

We have had Rudy Meinl F at the University of Illinois for over 35 years. I play a PT 65 on my f tuba, but it doesn't seem to work well for me on the Rudy, intonation problems. The PT 64 works very well to solve those intonation problems. One of my students just played the Plogg "Sonata" on the Rudy with my 64 mouthpiece for his jury and did a great job.

Hi everyone,
Thank you for the leads. A place to start does help. I'll see where these take me.
Thanks!
