B&S F tuba Goldbrass PT-10

Post by bttmbow »

Late 80s detachable leadpipe Goldbrass F tuba. Beautiful tone, great high range and flexibility. Low CC is the norm for these types; you have to get to know it! Surrounding notes are good!
Any questions, email me.

Hi,just starting to educate myself on B&S F tubas. Is yours a 5 valve? Is the 6v. more sought after and actually used ? Irealize the 5th and 6th valves both extend the 1st and 2nd slides respectively, but can you describe a couple of situations where it either makes sense or is highly desired, maybe aside from the obvious flattening of certain notes in lieu of pulling slides? (which seems as though it would be difficult (cumbersome). Okay, can an adjustable tuning slide mechanism accomplish all or most of the same functions as those of valves 5 and 6? Thanks in advance.
