Glenn Cronkhite leather tuba bag fits PT6 SOLD

Post by Beans&Tuba »

Testing the water here . I’ve had this for sale for awhile , but the problem is that I cant really say what tuba fits in it . (See update below) I bought it new online from Taylor music( I think ), close to 8 years ago . I bought it for my Miraphone 289 ( 39 tall x 18.5 bell), but had to use extra padding around the side and lower bow . I also put a B&S 101 clone in it ( 43 tall x 16.5 bell) , and this bag is not quite long enough , and the bag is too wide , but it did zip up , but was not an ideal fit . I measure the interior dimensions about 41 tall x 18.5-19 bell x 20 wide . It Is :tuba: definitely designed for a front valve tuba . Of course Cronkhite didnt use any tag or model number . Its 2 tone brown leather , and has a few spots where the brown polish Is worn , but no other damage . I am asking $450 OBO.
I know i can provide email pix , but not sure how to do pix on TN.

UPDATE. A repair technician friend of mine had a PT6 in his shop, and I tried it in this case and it’s a perfect fit. I’m sure that’s what it was designed for.

I had a custom leather one made for my former wiseman, which is identical to a pt6p. I couldn’t bear to part with it so tried my Eastman 836 in it. It does fit, with a few extra inches at the bottom end of bag, otherwise, fine. I contend the 836, and other similar tubas, aren’t really much ,if any, larger than a pt6, just shaped differently. I suspect the interior volume would be petty similar if measured. The larger of the 2 Yorks, nirschl, holton, 2165, may have different results. Just a theory.
