What the hell are they talking about? The Conn Geib rim is awesome! Very thin, very sharp. Change that and you are changing a lot, IMO...

Yes, I own the mouthpiece. It's my go-to for my Rudi. Tone is very consistent from top to bottom, articulations are clear, and it works great as an all-around mouthpiece.

Anyone who has a rotor horn, I'd say it's definitely worth a try.

They are a little loose with their antecedents, it isn't clear whether the rim that caused unhappiness was Conn's, or Laskey's, or both. I suppose every rim has the same problem: someone doesn't like it.

I have it on good authority that it was the Laskey rim. They used something a bit more rounded on the crown. Still has a great inner bite for clear and crisp articulation.

That was my problem with the Conn Geib (I owned the original for a while). The sound was incredibly sweet and refined (it just felt and sounded good!), but the throat was tiny. Trying to out a lot of air through it just made it back up on you.

The Stofer and Kanstul/Jim New Geibs did not have that problem for me.

Maybe I missed it, but what material is it made from?

pauvog, the throat is like the Laskey 30G which is around 8.35 or so... not small at all. Easy to put plenty of air into it.

Marty, the mouthpiece is made of brass and plated in silver. Dunno about blank weights but it isn't a heavyweight and doesn't feel super light either.

Sounds neat! Who makes them? (Like, did Monster get a CNC or did they send them out...?)

You may have to ask them directly about that.

No pictures anywhere? None on the site? That's no way to sell a product nowdays.

Pictures? Better - could be wrong, but just guessing that James New's Kanstul Geib is the same as James New's Geib, here's a profile compared to a couple other more conical mouthpieces:
