Online Classes

Post by DiveBomber »

My university has moved all classes online, which unfortunately means the end of ensemble classes. But private lessons shall continue... online. Any thoughts on how to make this time more effective? I am worried online/video lessons will be drastically less effective. Sincerely a freshman who's trying to keep getting better during this mess.

I teach both in person and by Skype, and actually there's very little difference. As long as both ends have good internet it works great. I was skeptical before I started too.

A friend who gives loads of online lessons reckons that a wired connection is TONS better than a wifi connection.
Go and find an ethernet cable!

As an example...

I have a gigabit connection. However, Wi-Fi usually tops out at 90-100Mbps per connection. If I tether over a Cat5 cable, I can pull about 900Mbps, nearly the complete advertised bandwidth.

Unless you are not paying for it anyway, demand a refund. :tuba:
