Euphonium quartets - please respond

Post by CrappyEuph »

A euphonium quartet from North Texas is going up to Sotto Voce's chamber music institute next week, and we will be reading quartets all this week to prepare.

If you're a composer and you've got a euphonium quartet you want played, please reply to this thread.

I'd also appreciate any recommendations regarding quartets that anyone has played and really enjoyed.

Thanks,
Jamie

I got a whole load of stuff out of the library today - mostly trombone quartets, a few trumpet and one clarinet. If you've written stuff for four euphoniums, I'd love to see it. I can open Finale files, if that's a concern.

If the lower parts don't go too low, something written for 2 euphs and 2 tubas would probably work for a euph quartet (just as it could work for a tuba quartet if the upper parts don't go too high). Something to consider ... 8)

I love Ball of Fire, but we've played it maybe five times in the last two years, so we're looking for something else.

We've also played a lot of tuba quartet music, but the low stuff just doesn't sound right played on euphonium, plus it's really hard to tune down there.
