War of the Worlds

Post by TexTuba »

I went to see it on Friday and I have to say that I was pleasantly suprised. It wasn't as bad as I thought it might be. I liked how there were some ties with the original movie and the book. I really think it was worth the ticket price. You all should go see it if you haven't already. Nice low brass licks too...

Is this based on disagreements with his opinions and beliefs, or is it because you dislike his acting?? I personally think he's a kook, but I also think he's a pretty good actor, who's done some pretty good movies (although, he peaked early with Rain Man...)

I went to see Team America a couple of times. Does that mean I funded stupidity?

It is a pretty good movie, but the sound designer should get an Osar. The big klaxon type sound the tripods make is pretty damn scary. It sounds like an over amplified and distorted upright bass being played with a bow from Hell!

Movie scared the hell out of me...I haven't had physical responses to a scary movie in well over a decade, good job Mr. Spielberg!

I did think that the story got in the way of the movie a bit..had there been better screenwriting(and perhaps a more convincing actor for the lead role) this could have been one of the best movies of the year.

I am such a music dork. I saw that "tripod" and all I could think of is that that was some good low brass and what was the interval of those low notes. Minor third by the way...A to C.
