A) That's Mr. Neilan to you. I am more than twice your age, have two kids, and am a teacher to appreciative students who realize that there is something left to be learned.

B) I personally never ordered you to leave. However, I (and I am sure most of us here and on the trombone board) would greatly prefer it if you stop making gross generalizations, know-it-all comments about instruments you have never even touched, giving so-called advice you don't have a clue about (i.e. contrabass trombone to the guy at CURTIS), and most importantly showing gross disrespect to the members of the boards - including frequent profanities and flagrant misuse of grammar.

C) Perhaps you would be much better received if you were to LISTEN more and chime in only when you have something constructive, and from your own experience to add, without the aforementioned issues. Thinking before you type and some semblance of spelling and grammar would make your posts far more readable.

D) Someday you will realize what most of us here have been trying to do and thank us for it. That is, if you even remotely have taken any of our advice. Undisciplined kids tend to grow up to be undisciplined adults, who are rarely successful in whatever they pursue. I have had to bust chops on a few students in the past - and they came around for the better because of it.

E) I don't f@#$ anybody but Mrs. Neilan (and not nearly as often as I would like), so that hardly qualifies me for the title of f@#$er.

P.S. I made some of the same mistakes when I was your age and even a little older, and had to pay for many of them in one way or another. Perhaps you do not have to learn everything the hard way.

One of my student just got a bag from Altieri for her 54J and it's working very well.

By the way, Altieri got a newly designed web-site and it's pretty cool!
I would second (or third...) this notion! I just received my Altieri bag 3 weeks ago, and I love it! It is light, well protected, has waterproof material, loads of pocket space, and Donna will also customize anything you want to the bag. The gig bag is also quite affordabe as well, in comparison to some other brands.

If you are looking for the hard case, go with the one Conn makes. Good and sturdy, plus wheels which is always a plus. The Altieri are good from what I've heard. I would not recommend the gig bag that Conn makes. Too many stories of quality for me to purchase one. Good luck.

You know...

Your profanity laced vocabulary isn't very endearing.

You sure don't see anyone else posting garbage like that all over the board...just an observation.

Actually, my dictionary doesn't have "basterd" in it.

He does still occasionally lapse into his old habits -- "know-it-all-ism" being, in my book, a more grievous offense than profanity -- but I'd hate to come down on him without also acknowledging that in SOME of his posts I see some improvement in attitude.
