Hello,
Selling my all-original York Eb Alto Horn c.1938. Serial No. 121010. 8" bell, 24 1/2" height, .470" bore, no case.
Asking $250 OBO -- PRICE DROP $150 OBO
This horn, serial number and year of manufacture are identified on the Horn-u-copia.net website, “Record of Surviving York Instruments” https://www.horn-u-copia.net/Docs/York%20db.html
In photos, are pictures of this horn, reference to this horn on the horn-u-copia site and pg. 12 and 25 from the 1938-1939 York Catalogue describing the “York Recording Alto Model N440 and N438 and the price of this horn in 1938-39, of $88.50. https://www.yorkloyalist.com/1938-1939-catalog
This is model N440 with the front/”side” action valves.
I purchased this horn over 20 years ago. Bell engraving says “York Band Inst. Co. Grand Rapids Mich USA”. Valves in very good condition and work smoothly, all tuning slides move freely, braces all intact, plays and sounds good. Does not come with mouthpiece or case.
Nice horn for a York or other vintage horn collector. Will ship to CONUS, very well packed, insured, via USPS Parcel Select Ground (will get shipping estimate prior to payment/shipping) or if you prefer, by FedEx Ground or UPS. Buyer pays shipping.
