FS: Eastman Rotor F

Post by Bassanova »

Hello everyone I’m looking to sell my Eastman 864 F. I bought this tuba 4 months ago from Milano Music. This is a very great example of the model with very even sound and pitch from top to bottom. The only reason I’m selling is because I’m switching back to pistons. It comes with a hard-case.

The instrument is located in Austin, Tx. I’m willing to ship but on your dime.

Asking price is $5,000. or best offer. Pictures will be sent upon request.

I went to Park Ave. Music in San Jose to try out an Eastman 836. I wasn't terribly impressed, but I think the room was definitely a factor. However, I also test played an 864 rotary F tuba that they had just received. It played beautifully, with an even scale and tone quality from top to bottom (as noted). Also, the low end was great for a tuba that size. Both the low C and low G just roared out of the horn! In fact, I couldn't believe how good the low G was. I didn't stay on that tuba long, but I got a very good impression from it.

I plan to go back to Park Ave. Music to play test the 832 CC tuba. I've heard good things, and I like the look of it.
