FS: Yamaha YFB621 - $7,000 ON HOLD

Post by darth2ba »

Hello all,

For sale is my silver 621F. I am the 3rd owner. The original owner was Scott Sutherland. The 2nd owner informed me that when Scott switched to Eastman, Yamaha replaced the larger bell with the original bell; evidence of the original bell being put back on is visible.

This is a fantastic F tuba for brass quintet, solo work & orchestra. I’ve used this tuba extensively with the Rodney Marsalis Philadelphia Big Brass. Over the last two years of owning this tuba I had my repairman, Matt Berkvam, install a Saturn water key on the main tuning slide, vent the 5th valve, install permanent valve guides (versus the replaceable Yamaha ones), and a custom PVAK. The tuba is in the same physical condition as it was when I bought it. This 621F comes with the following:

Custom Maxline Flight Case (made so the tuba fits inside the gig-bag inside of the case. It’s been used once; it is essentially brand new.)
Cronkhite gig-bag (red+black cordura material)
Custom PVAK
Schlipf practice mute

$7,000 + shipping (at buyer’s expense)
***Bank/Cashier’s check only***

Reason for selling? I am looking at either a larger piston F tuba, or switch back to a rotor F tuba.

Serious inquiries please email me: ready(dot)tuba(@)gmail(dot)com

Cheers,
Joe

Re: CURRENTLY OFF-MARKET

Post by darth2ba »

Hello All,

After a lot of consideration, I have decided to hold onto my Yamaha 621F for the time being. To those who reached out and inquired, there were circumstances out of my control that did not allow me to be able to have the tuba ready-to-go and/or post updated pictures.

When I decide to put my 621F up on the market again, I will update this thread.

All the best,
Joe
