Forum rules
This forum is for buying or selling your personal equipment. Sponsored selling is allowed as well. All ads are required to have the following information: Price (even for trades), brand, model, and location (City and State, for instruments, not accessories). It is acceptable to link to an external ad if you are promoting a sale of your personal equipment. No Ebay auctions, but "Buy It Now" listings are fine. Photos are HIGHLY suggested as well, and may be hosted on Google Drive, or elsewhere. If you see an ad that does not meet these criteria, please report it.
I am posting this on behalf of a gentleman located in Albuquerque, New Mexico. This is a 1976 Mirafone 185 5v CC that he is selling for $4,500 plus possible shipping. He bought it in the late 70s during his Mm and toured with the American Wind Symphony, kept playing it until he stopped playing in the 90s but has kept up with maintenance on it. The bell is 15" and the 5th valve is tuned to the two-step length. Please PM me and I will put you in contact with him for more info.
This looks like a 184, actually. I'm not sure why my last response was deleted. Can you verify with the serial number? I might be interested. Thank you.

You actually replied on the other forum. I asked the seller to measure and the bell is 15", which means it is a 185. For many years he assumed it was a 186 since it was a more-or-less full size tuba.
184s of this vintage would have a 14" bell and be a lot skinnier. Maybe it is the angle of the photo.

I’ve learned something new today, thank you. Sending you a PM.
