Exact age unknown (can’t locate serial #), but brass is more dense and horn is heavier than typical 681’s, IMO. Horn is amazingly dent-free (nothing major) for a former school horn and was recently chem-cleaned w/valve alignment. All slides move, and valves are quick, smooth and silent. Tone is both colorful and broad, IMO. 5th partial requires some adjustment but is very usable. Mouthpipe has been patched twice but does not leak. Includes a new Gator Allegro series gig bag ($300 value), but d/n include a hard case. Not trying to get rich off this sale, just trying to recoup my investment. A great horn for community band (my purpose for purchasing) or anyone just needing a solid tuba on a tight budget. Ready to play. $2,200, must pick up in Dallas area.
