MW 2182 mouthpiece paring

Post by JTizzle717 »

I just bought a used MW 2182 and I have some stuffiness in the mid-low register. I have a Laskey 28K and a Mercer & Barker MB4 and they seem to get results that are just opposite ends of the spectrum on the horn. Good response on low notes with the MB but not very nimble, with almost the exact opposite happening with the laskey. Any recommendations of mouthpieces to try?

I use the Wick Tindall AT6/7/8U’s on mine. The 6 when in an orchestra and need more sound, the 7 as a fantastic all-around mp, and the 8 for more challenging solo rep.

I second the suggestion for the Tindall 7/8. I'd probably try the 7Y first, but would also own an 8Y.
