I never bothered testing my cable modem, but this clocks it a 6+Mbps (6M 6396.6Kbits 799.6KBytes). Certainly beats dialup. I was talking to someone today still on dialup and realized that I haven't used it since 1997 (my neighborhood was one of the first "fiber to the home" trials in the US). I can't imagine using the internet today at dialup speeds.
