Hello Troops,
Next Tuesday, Dec. 16, 2025, at 7:30 PM, the Chicago Symphony Brass section will present its annual concert at Orchestra Hall in Chicago. Music by Poulenc, Tomasi, Chabrier, Ravel and others. Original music as well as masterfully-crafted arrangements have been done by several, including our newest member of the CSO Brass section, Timothy Higgins, who has spectacularly assumed the role of Principal Trombone. At the conclusion of the concert, author Sam Quinones, will be in the Rotunda area of Orchestra Hall to sign copies of his recently-published book, "The Perfect Tuba." Rave reviews of that book have been found in the Chicago Tribune, the Wall Street Journal, etc. Quinones has written many books on varied subjects and was a writer for the LA Times.
Cheers, gene
