Does anyone know what's going on with the TubaEuph site (forum.alex281.com)? I've been trying it since Saturday and all I get is an error message. As many of you know, the site was hacked a few months ago and most of the older threads were lost.
I e-mailes TubaAS through this site last nite and Andy replied saying that he could not make contact with Alex either.
TubaEuph site?

I think the site was hacked again. The php software for 'TubaEuphorum' has not been updated so it's easy to be hacked. Alex says he'll lose a lot of the special features he's added if he updates the software.

I wonder why someone would waste their time hacking a site like that? All it's doing is annoying a very small demographic.

This is certainly not an example of maximum damage effect, but I have a difficult time understanding why there are people who enjoy making the world a less pleasant place to live. It seems contrary to anything which makes any sense to me.Ryan_Beucke wrote:I wonder why someone would waste their time hacking a site like that? All it's doing is annoying a very small demographic.

Although I don't know who you're talking about, I would say it's unlikely. The first time it was hacked, a group claimed responsibility, and they had also hacked a bass guitar manufacturers website around the same time, so I would suspect that it's the same group. Although who knows.knuxie wrote:I get a feeling this could be the work of a disgruntled former(banned) member of the group. Not going to point any fingers, but it would make sense. Just remember back to anyone who might be particularly PO'd at the group or Alex or both. The list isn't long.

Just his forum is down... His main webpage is still up (http://www.alex281.com). Don't know if that means anything, just thought it was interesting...

It's interesting that one of the last entries in the journal on his web page is about finding a girlfriend. Maybe that has something to do with his absence! .... Can't imagine
