Reading an Eb horn part on Eb tuba?

Post by anonymous4 »

I want to play some Eb horn solos on my Eb tuba, and I know there must be a way of easily reading off the part without having to do a great deal of transposing. I think I remember someone telling me to read the notes where they lie on the staff, but change the clef and add some flats....but this could be completely off. Anyone know how to do this?

Thanks!!

I really don't know a thing about this, but if the part is written for Horn in Eb, wouldn't you just play it like it like a C tuba reading treble clef?
