MW 2165 FS (edited)

Post by JCalkin »

FS: Meinl-Weston 2165 CC tuba.

I'm listing this horn for Casey Thomas, a friend who is the second owner (first was Scott Robertson of Birmingham, AL)

This instrument is in LIKE NEW shape, with one exception: the leadpipe took a hit and was driven into the bell slightly, the horn was fixed by Merlin (who does brass work for the CSO). A minor lacquer scar is all that remains. I spent a few days looking this horn over thoroughly and could find not even the usual signs of wear. You could put this horn in a brass store next to BRAND NEW 2165's and not tell the difference (except for the aforementioned scar.

A Reunion Blues black leather gig (also in spectacular shape) is included.

Asking price: $8000 OR BEST OFFER

Instument is located in Iowa City, IA

No photos for now as my digital camera recently died. Seriously though, this thing looks NEW.

Serious inquiries only - contact the seller at: casey-thomas @uiowa.edu[/b]

Oh, and by the way, he is selling because he's a trombonist who doubles on tuba and doesn't need a tuba of this... girth.
