NY Philharmonic
Anyone hear their perfermance of Mahler 1 tonight? brass section was spectacular.

2)That's how many horns the MAHLER 1 calls for
3)There were 4 bones (Joe Alessi used an assistant for quick mute changes)
According to original instrumentation, there's a 3rd tenor part. Also, 5 trumpets are scored, but the 5th is rarely used.
I'm sure I'm wrong a couple of times....tell it to your congressman....

I know his CC horn is the Miraphone 1291 and if Im not mistaken he is using the Miraphone 128?(Firebird) if not the 128? than its the Gronitz (dont remember the model #)Doug@GT wrote:More importantly, what two horns was Mr. Baer using?
