Fredericksburg TX Octoberfest

Post by Scott Roeder »

All tuba players that love to drink beer, come to this Octoberfest in Fredericksburg on Sept30-Oct2. My band plays on Friday and Saturday night from 7-9 each night. I would love to sit down and have a beer after our set with anyone that comes. Hope to see some of you there.

I believe we are playing in the Big Hall on Friday and the Little Hall on Saturday. They each have names but I never rember the names.

The TubaMeisters will be performing at the "Little Hall," on Saturday, from 5:00 to 7:00. I believe it is called the Kinderhalle, or something of that sort. And Scott, I'll take you up on that beer(or should I say, bier).

Anyone in the area, come check it out. It's a nice little Oktoberfest. It gets better every year.

Fred's Oktoberfest in Texas

I checked the name of the two halls on their website. The "big" hall is called Adelsverein and the "little" hall is called Kinder Halle. By the way, for those interested, I believe Scott's group is called Havlak-Batla Polka Time Band. I'm looking forward to the festival. It is a very charming festival with some pretty good entertainment.

Also, for those interested, the TubaMeisters who will be performing this Saturday are: Carl Lobitz(lead euphonium), Ezra Johnson(2nd euphonium & vocals), Ray Grim(basstuba), and Richard Wallace(contrabass tuba). We have added a few new charts and are using vocals on a couple of tunes. I hope some of our TubeNet friends will come hear us perform. I believe you will be entertained, and will hear a pretty good sounding tuba-euphonium quartet.

Doc,

I did record an album with them last year. If you would like to have a listen, drop me a message and I will try to get a copy to you. Hope you are able to stop by for a beer this weekend.
