Polka Music

Post by Benjamin »

My brother is President of the German Club. Octoberfest is comeing up and he asked me to try to get together a Polka Band. I need to know if any body knows some websites that I could view Polka scores and music for free online. Also, if any body can tell some music theory books that explain Polka, like how to write it and all. I listion to it but have no idea what it looks like on papper. Any help would be liked,

Thanks,
Benjamin.

Benjamin,

I don't know of any German music sites where you can get stuff for free, but if you are interested in purchasing German music from a very large collection of titles you should visit this web site:
http://www.festmusik.com

Alternately... you can order a set of 'Hungry Five in Germany' books from Hansen House Publishing in Miami for about $15. Their phone number is (305) 532-5461.

Current 'stable'... Rudolf Meinl 5/4, Marzan (by Willson) euph, King 2341, Alphorn, and other strange stuff.
