If you enjoy this piece and live in the Southeast, NEXUS will be performing it with the University Symphony Orchestra at Florida State in Tallahassee on October 22. If you're anywhere in the area it promises to be a great opportunity to see arguably one of the premier chamber groups (at least of the percussion variety) perform a really cool piece! Also on the program are Kabalevsky's Colas Breugnon and Dvorak's Seventh Symphony.

Bloke,

Listening to it now on the Naxos music library. Very enjoyable! I've always thought she would be the perfect person to commission a new concerto from. Maybe in the future, we'll see it happen. Probably opinions vary too much to make it a TubeNet project, but there are other ways. (University Consortium, rich uncle, etc.) 8)

Sounds good!

Zwilich is a great idea -- commissioning from a woman composer is a fantastic way to go.

Others:
(all are 'hi-end' composers)

Joan Tower
Augusta Read Thomas (in residence with the CSO now I think)
Pauline Oliveros
Annea Lockwood
