On my sousaphone, I use a Kelly 18 with a 1/2 inch wide ring of golfer's lead tape on the shank where it meets the bowl. After playing almost 30 years, this is the best mouthpiece I have ever played for a sousaphone, and it has the advantage of feeling really good on the embouchure and not getting too cold or too hot for outdoor gigs. It is a little deeper than the Bach, but has a really good balance of upper overtones in order to get a good "grit in the gizzard" tone necessary for projection for outdoor sousaphone playing, without getting harsh or blatty.
On my 1971 Besson BBb comp, I use a standard Wick 1 (small shank). The cup diameter and rim contour are identical to the Kelly, with a more Helleberg style very deep cup. It can be difficult to play if you are not well warmed up, but when you are it repays you well in the vast spectrum of intonations, dynamics and timbres you can get out of it.
