what are some good mp's for a mw 2155

I think that now i have the kind of tuba i want which is a mw2155 and i was wondering about some good mouthpieces for solo and concert or all around

Ive got a Getzen G50 for sale in the for sale section... check it out. i got through 5 years of undergrad and 1 year at NEC for masters and advanced in audition with it.. worth a looook.

It looks pretty cool but i havn't got the money right now. i'm starting to work alot more right now to save up for a tuba

I personally love my Meinl Weston and so did my last tuba professor but my current one has a B&S and it sounds beautiful but Meinl Weston or a B&S those would be the two i would recomend. both i believe to be very nice horns. My Meinl Weston 2155 is very open so open i can't even max it out along with my professor. either way best of luck in finding a tuba and just try a bunch of them and find one that you like.

Take a look at the Miraphone 1291s. I have one and love it.

Also take a look at the Rudy Meinl (different company than Meinl-Weston) 43 3/4, 4345 3/4 - 4/4 and the 45 4/4. Great horns.

As far as cost, if you are not concerned about brand name or a horn that may have been customized, sometimes Matt at Dillon music gets one in that he works on so it will play great at much less cost than a new one.

Be sure to contact the tuba professor at each school. I know that Central Washington U. recently bought at least a couple professional quality CC tubas for student use, B&S I believe.

Hi,

I recently bought one of Sam Gnagey's CC tubas and I'm exteremely happy with it. They have a beautiful vintage, dark sound and good intonation. I think it's probably the best playing horn for the amount he charges. Last time I checked the pice was between $4-4500.
