Hello all,

Just trying to figure out what mouthpiece might work best for me. Or at least where I should start looking!

Thanks, Tim

Well I've just bought a 188 CC. The TU 31 that came with it is working out really well. I've tried several others including several Hellebergs. None are as good. YMMV.

I like the way my 186 plays/sounds with a Marcinkiewicz N4 Tommy Johnson.

Thanks for your replies...

I've used a MF3 a PT50 and a couple other smaller MP's but I'm having problems with the lower register. The notes don't pop out and I have to work hard to maintain the pitch. Even then they are still stuffy or fluffy... Is it a MP problem, larger bore issue, or could it just be user error? I haven't had the 186 that long; could it take some getting used to? Any suggestions would be helpful???

Thanks, Tim

I've always felt the 186 can use any mouthpiece that works for you. Just depends on what fits size-wise and sound-wise. IMHO
