Tooth Extraction and embouchure

Post by Tubazen »

Anybody out there got any info on how tooth extraction (particularly lower teeth at the corner of embouchure on one side) is likely to affect flexibility, strength, articulation etc any articles you know of would be useful.
Thanks

I play in lodge band with a gentleman who has lost his left upper canine. He has a special little case like a pocket watch case in which he keeps a removable replacement tooth with hooks to attach to his bridgework so he can play.

I lost all my teeth. If you have a gap that is a problem, there is something you can fill in with that will return the lip to its accustomed position. I can play tuba and a little trumpet with a normal upper denture and two implants holding the lower denture.
Tooth or gum loss is a last warning to stop playing with pressure.
