Sho-Ichirop Hokazono's CD "Fantastic Euphonium"

Post by JB »

Does anyone know if Makoto Kanai arrangements of When You Wish Upon a Star and Music of the Night recorded on Sho-Ichirop Hokazono's CD entitled Fantastic Euphonium cd are available for purchase?

Any leads?

PS The playing on this recording is truly fantastic, btw.

I don't know where to buy the sheet music, but I would be interested in knowing where one could buy a copy of the CD.

You might want to look through some of the options here:

Yeah, I might. I gave up on finding his CDs through Google. It seemed only Japanese web sites had them for sale and my Japanese is rusty. And a look at that handy link you provided showed no change there.

If it is of any help, the CD "Fantastic Euphonium" lists Nippon Crown Co. Ltd, Tokyo Japan as the label, with the catalog number being crci--35012.

There is also a second volume (called "Fantastic Euphonium II" CRCI-35020 ).

Both recordings are excellent.

It's perplexing that a world class player's CDs are so hard to find.

Many thanks for the leads. This will encourage me to start digging again.

And good luck on your sheet music search.

That's very interesting, and makes sense. Now if I only knew someone in Japan....
