Couturier Eb Helicon for sale - could meet you at USABTEC

Post by Tom Eshelman »

I'm selling my Eb Couturier helicon. The metal's in good shape, the bell is quite nice with engraving, the valves work well and seem reasonably tight, the gooseneck is extra nice.

The horn is from the 1920's I've been told. It is conical from the gooseneck thru the bell including the valve section. The valve "slides" are solid loops. The only tuning slide is the main tuning slide and it's conical too. This is definitely a unique design with some historical interest.

How does it play? A big sound, but it has definite quirks.

$350. No case.

I'll bring it to the USABTEC Thursday thru Saturday Jan 26-28. Let me know if interested, I can send pictures.
