Try the following search on

The first gets about 2,600,000 hits; the second, 568,000.

Golly, I wonder why that is?

Here's a very odd thing, however. Repeat the same exercise using the search phrase:

"democracy and free speech"

The first gets 32,300 hits; the second, 216,000.
