we had a tuba quartet called 4play
we lost a member and almost became 3sum, but I haven't been able to finish any new section music with that few members.

Well, if I lived there....it would be BrassAbama hands down! That name has ring to it. Even a Yankee can make that name sound Southern.

Of course all classicists know that the original name of Troy was Ilium. I believe the Greek word for four is tessera. I'm not sure what the Greek for quartet is, but I think terda means by fours. You could investigate this further, but groupings like

terdailium or brass of ilium

might be sufficiently esoteric. No worse than many pop band monikers.

don't you guys think it should be something people can pronounce and maybe even understand? a weird name could be a hindrance to paying gigs.if you're just gonna play recitals at Troy U.,then no problem...

Kind of sounds like an intestinal problem

Say "Toy boat or Troy boat" ten times fast. I bet you can't do it.

It's much harder than it looks.
