Oh, I'm going to have fun with this one! I quit a brass band because a drummer was "hired" who couldn't stay anywhere near the beat, and I was told, as Eb tuba player, that it was my job to keep the band on the beat. I'm now subbing for a short while in that same band, with the same drummer, and I think I will just show up with an electric bass, which I can use to much better effect to straighten out the drummer. heh.

Oh, and if we can substitute an e-bass for a tuba now and then, how do you think, say, Ewald #1 will sound with a bass on the tuba part? Now, there's an idea!

And how's this for a turn-around: we didn't have any bass trombones, so while I played bass guitar in jazz band, one of our souzy player played the bass bone parts!
