As far as I know, there is not one currently available on an official CD, but maybe Oystein has one from a performence:

There are many versions for strings, etc. out there!

If you want, I have a recording of David Childs playing "Gabriel's Oboe". It's not the Baadsvik arrangement, it's David Childs's arrangement, but it's still a great recording. If your email server will allow large files such as this, then I'll be willint to email it to you. My address is: heather.mcdown@gmail.com. Let me know if you're interested.

I am sure anyone who went to ITEC can comment on whether it works, but from my point of view the answer is an emphatic "YES"! The tuba part is in the upper range. Mostly in or above the staff.Leisesturm wrote: But first the question: how exactly do the tuba and euphonium transcriptions differ and to those that have heard it does the tuba transcription "work"?
I agree it is just a beautiful piece of music!

It most certainly works when Oystein performs it. I have to admit its the first time a tuba brought tears to my eyes. Gorgeous piece - beautiful arrangement.
