A "sculpture" at the City Museum, St Louis
20k, #177354, dates from 1921. Probably worth more as a souzie than as a lousy piece of art.

This looks to be some sort of Monster or Jumbo. No way of getting to it to get a better picture or a closer look. Lousy condition. Even lousier sculpture. Supposedly there is another souzie somewhere, I couldn't find it. I'll look for it next time.

How do you know it's still fixable and worthwhile to do so?bloke wrote:I can't help be feel somewhat pissed off when I see stuff like that. It reminds me of taking a perfectly good '95 (etc.) Chevy 4WD pick-up with a strong 350 under the hood, putting crap on/around it, and calling it "art" (instead of hauling stuff with it).

The University City (burb of St. Louis) library has a "sculpture" made out of two sousaphones hooked together. I really rather like it.
