Yo Schlep,

You yanked my Update Update Update thread on Talk Like A Pirate Day without so much as a proper "avast!", but we get to see more of Mr. Neilan than most of us have any right to see!? Image

UPDATE:

I have conducted an extensive search and have been able to find anything to update. Well, I suppose I could update everyone on the progress of my recovery from having a hernia fixed. Now that would certainly be interesting to each and every member of TubeNet. I guess I'd better get to work on a draft for that post.

Isn't that what Update Update is all about? Of course we want to know the details of your hernia repair.

Weeeelllll! I'm now approx. a month further along the road and things are beginning to get back to normal. I played a TubaMeister/Sauerkraut gig before the three week mark. That meant standing and playing for three hours with my 186 resting squarely on the three inch gash just above my navel. I managed to survive this and, now, other gigs, so life is good.

Now to be perfectly honest, I'm glad I don't know all the details about what went on after I faded into the unconscious world just prior to the surgery.

And, Rick, what's the deal with replacing the air conditioning? I thought you lived in a climate that was cool enough not to need it. It has never been too warm when I've been there. What's the deal? After all, don't you need another tuba more than you need air conditioning? I'm shocked! Shocked, I tell you!

Yes, but you have to remember the part about replacing the cap then, one you've put the cork in... :D

In Virginia, unlike Texas, we have four seasons. (Texas has two: January and Summer.) When it's hot, it's hot, though for us it's a three-day heat wave and in Texas it's August. It isn't hot right now, and I'm grateful the AC didn't die a month ago, or I might have been telling Wade-like stories.

I'm scheduling the next water softener failure for your next visit. I know how much you like helping me replace it.

Ray must have forgotten to replace the cap when not in use.
