I'd definitely buy a recording of Carol's performances of her transcriptions and arrangements for tuba (Khachaturian Violin Concerto, Saint-Saëns Cello Concerto, Harlem Nocturne, etc.).
If no label (Crystal Records, Mark Records, Summit, etc.) has already suggested releasing such a recording commercially, they're missing the boat.

That would be my guess, too, and I have never had the pleasure of meeting her.iiipopes wrote:I'm sure the moment Carol sees this thread she will be laughing hysterically at all of us.
And to Ralph...I'd be more inclined to buy a fajita taco right now than I would be to buy more tuba equipment.
To Carol...I hope you have a sense of humor about the posts on TubeNet that you are the subject of. Some of us may be a bit quirky, but overall we have the utmost respect for you.

I only fail to qualify on two of the above points(well, possibly three).MartyNeilan wrote:Lisa, you must have been practicing Law far too long by now, to be able to fabricate such a statement when all the evidence is to the contrary!tubalawlisa wrote:attractive young male tuba players

As a logical person, you might find it interesting to think of this as a function of random variation which produces the occasional fruitcake, applied to the male and female populations who frequent this board. We have basically one person who accounts for most of the references, except for just the latest one that prompted your question. Statistics with such small numbers are naturally sketchy, but clearly the odds are low that the smaller female population would also produce one or more such individuals, even if natural propensities were considered to be equal irrespective of gender.tubalawlisa wrote:On a different note...
I can't speak for how she would feel about the constant references to marriage, but I have to wonder as a logical person, why don't the females who frequent this board jokingly reference marriage to attractive young male tuba players on a regular basis?

I almost regret being the first tubenetter to propose marriage to the lovely and talented Ms. Carol. She may have an aversion to pot-bellied old geezers or laugh at my pathetic attempts to woo her.
But you never know until you try. She might find me amusing or super-talented. (Might!)
I mean no disrespect but I have this powerful urge to buy her a house.

Then there was the middle section of the English "art" song I sang at state contest as a freshman in high school, for which I received a "I" rating, of course:
"Dispair gives courage oft to men and if she smile, why then?
Why then? And if she smile...Why then? Why then? Why then! Why Then!...."

Why then? And if she smile...Why then? Why then? Why then! Why Then!...."

Which females would those be (present company excepted, of course). There is only a handful of ladies on Tubenet, at least who have identified themselves as such.tubalawlisa wrote:...but I have to wonder as a logical person, why don't the females who frequent this board jokingly reference marriage to attractive young male tuba players on a regular basis?
And at least one of them hasn't been uninterested in male tuba players.
Come to think of it, young male tuba players who have 1.) displayed extraordinary talent and maturity, and 2.) are photogenic are about as small a handful as the ladies.
But everyone knows the proposals are in jest, because tuba players only marry flute players.

You might want to contemplate that one for quite a while, Ralph. This might qualify for the "Unnatural Acts" category.TexTuba wrote:Actually, I'm marrying a sax player.
