I have lived in or visted Borger off and on for more than 50 years. Until they built the Lake Meredith Dam, I had never even seen water in the Canadian River!schlepporello wrote:The reporter was making a big fuss about how one major fire had "Jumped" the Canadian River just to the south of Perryton, TX. This part of the river is about 45 miles downstream from the Lake Meredith Dam (which the water level is currently the lowest it has ever been). The Water authority isn't going to release any more water than is absolutely neccessary at the moment, meaning that even I can jump the Canadian River where the fire did (or rather step across it).
