MA -- 'cause there's a MA on this board who plays tuba. Could it be the SAME MA? Via a Star Trek time warp?

Hmmmm .....

Hmmm. Maybe I should go dig up a new picture to use for my avatar....and *really* confuse people!

I bet you can't even FIND a Ginger who plays tuba!

Mary Ann for sure. Ginger is too 'blonde' -- even if she might be a red head. :)

As a non-wife I couldn't incude her on my thread.
But it wasn't due to her lack of trying.
It's a shame Captain Healey didn't find her bottle first.
Would have been a different show.

In her modeling days, Tina Louise was quite stunning:

...and she's got a much longer list of screen credits (and in better movies) as well as having recorded four LP's. Note that she did not participate in any of the TV "Return to Gilligan's Isle" retrospectives. I submit that playing "Ginger" was a much more difficult job than playing "Mary Ann".

Or more demeaning due to the ditzy character.

Mary Ann. And there weren't enough mud wrestling matches between the two for my taste.

Howard Stern once referred to an episode where Mary Ann was more scantily-clad than usual as a '"twelve kleenex episode". Interpret this how you will.

Either they don't make the grade OR many of us here are a bit older than we are willing to admit.
In the case of the first and last of your mentions...I don't think skanks should qualify.
Still with holding judgment on the other (I blame the parents)

The other thread was limited to 50's and 60's, before the above-mentioned children were born.

And this thread was limited to Ginger or Mary Ann.

I don't know about those younger women. One of them is the same age as my older daughter, which is really strange!

Sounds like a reference to Woody Allen, to me.

To tie all of this together, I present my theory of why Mary Ann is so much more popular: Of the two, Ginger is most like Paris Hilton.

As far as matching up couples on the S.S. Minnow, I always thought Mary Ann would have gone with the Professor (AKA Roy Hinkley, high school algebra teacher) and Ginger would have gone with Gilligan. She would definitely be the center of attention. And she would never be bored.
