Original Conn Helleberg Tuba Mouthpiece SOLD-better pic!

Postby jonesmj » Sat Jul 07, 2007 10:04 pm

Hi-
SOLD!
This is a silver original Conn-Helleberg-wonderful condition. No shank splits at end, silver nearly 100%, very few nicks--just in wonderful condition for its age--and it plays!! These are very desirable and quite expensive! See the pic below--the old pic I had didn't really show how nice this mouthpiece is--the new pic shows the wonderful condition of this rarity.
I will sell for $300 plus additional $8 for shipping. I will also include one of the 'Dolly' mouthpieces pouches which offer great protection. I ship only within the US. First come, first serve. Please don't PM email me, but email me directly at: jonestuba@juno.com
Thanks!
Regards-

Hi-
I replaced the pic for this ad with a much clearer, better pic so you can see the wonderful condition of this rare mouthpiece. See above.

Is that an older Alexander-sized shank that is comparable to the Doug Elliott A+ taper? (Not the A, but the one that is almost straight all the way out.) I don't know the end diameter off hand. If it is it will not fit into anything other than one of those monstrous old things . . . and I have one . . . and am aware that if you can use it then it will probably still need an adapter for my horn, which I do not want to use.

Just window shopping on the off-hand chance, you know.

shank

Postby jonesmj » Fri Aug 10, 2007 8:47 am

Hi-
The shank on this original Helleberg is like all my other original Hellebergs--fits all my horns--whether American style horns--like my Donatelli CC Conn, or European style horns-like my Meinl Weston horn.

I have noticed, from all I've seen, here, all the picture post websites, eBay, etc., that it is very difficult to get a good shank picture, because the least bit of camera angle will make the shank look totally different from what it really is. That applies to rim contours and glare from lighting to get the picture as well. I'm sure the shank is as he says it is.
