The shank on this original Helleberg is like all my other original Hellebergs--fits all my horns--whether American style horns--like my Donatelli CC Conn, or European style horns-like my Meinl Weston horn.

I have noticed, from all I've seen, here, all the picture post websites, eBay, etc., that it is very difficult to get a good shank picture, because the least bit of camera angle will make the shank look totally different from what it really is. That applies to rim contours and glare from lighting to get the picture as well. I'm sure the shank is as he says it is.
