Doe anybody know of a recording of this complete work?
This is not the composition on Gene's CD 'Big Boy'.

Barry's email address is available on the Australian Music Centre's web site (I think someone already posted a link) under his bio.
I performed this last year, and contacted him just to contact him and we emailed back and forth quite a bit in the weeks leading up to that performance. He probably has recordings.
I also have 2 recordings, one of which is me with the UW-Milwaukee Wind Ensemble.
Very nice concerto with a great deal of beautiful, sweeping melodic lines! There is a lot of face time, and the cadenza has a bit of (what I as a non-australian interpret as) aboriginal percussion involved in it.
I love the piece, have performed it twice, and look forward to performing it again!!!

Re: Tuba Concerto- Barry McKimm
I recorded it on Summit Records and it was just released last month. You can order it from them, or I also have some. I love this piece, and I hope my recording does it justice. Thanks,

Here's a place to get some recordings, if you are near a library which has Interlibrary Loan.

Re:
A sampler CD that was issued some years ago contained Gene's performance of a portion of the McKimm concerto--perhaps the performance from the Army Band tuba conference.tubaskiv wrote:Didn't Gene play it at one of the Army Band tuba conferences a few years ago? I think there is a recording floating around somewhere.
