When did travel distance enter the picture?fwiw, I've commuted to Europe to play multiple-week strings of gigs
Thanks for the link. I'd like to see Memphis sometime. I don't know about under that particular circumstance, though.
Maybe I'll call them up and see if they've got some good lookin' 'hood ho's' in the video. I might change my mind.

BBb or CC for college? Is a Mira 186CC a good enough horn for me to be taken seriously? Are M&M horns any good? Should I take all the lacquer off my horn so I sound better? Do I need to buy an F horn now- I'm a senior in HS but don't want to fall behind.mceuph wrote:Bloke,
What kind of mouthpiece do you play? Can you recommend a good euphonium mouthpiece for the high range? What college should I go to? Which tuba brand is the best? Rotary valves vs. piston valves- which are better, and what professional players are playing them. Should I be playing a heavy wall mouthpiece? Is blue juice better than hetman oil? What is the best euphonium gig bag?
BTW: I think all the beer girls are lovely but the third girl is preferable because she is drinking with greater gusto.

That may well be true. And, yes, I understand your point, however, the picture doesn't necessarily display how attractive she really is. Of course, I must further indicate that I have only casually looked at the picture. Perhaps I spent 1-2 seconds in actually making such assessments. The Big Ben wrote: BTW: I think all the beer girls are lovely but the third girl is preferable because she is drinking with greater gusto.

There's more than one girl in that picture? Oh yeah, there are two other ones, um other girls...The Big Ben wrote:BTW: I think all the beer girls are lovely but the third girl is preferable because she is drinking with greater gusto.

Perhaps the problem is that lately we have been going over and over the same stuff. Since inventing new equipment related topics seems to be too much work, we could go back to the future. Bloke, how about an exemption for stuff no one has bothered talking about for at least five years. It would be sort of like TubeNet wearing those plaid bell bottom pants Floyd Cooley sports on the cover of the LP version of his album. Suggested topics to revive are:
-Should I braze strips of half-round brass to the inside of my bell to dampen vibrations?
-Should I secure a leather belt around the bell to dampen vibrations?
-Does a split-grain belt work better than a full-grain one?
-How about brass vs. stainless buckles?
-Should I have my mouthpiece skeletonized?
-Aren’t Tryplen valves due for a comeback?
-Should I pay someone large amounts of money to solder lug nuts to my bottom valve caps?
I’m sure there are more. One of the problems with being old enough to remember some of the things mentioned above is that you are likely to have forgotten even more of it.
