Since that ensemble seems to push the envelope, I am surprised you did not ask the conductor about playing one of those "expanded" tuba parts that is floating around out there.

(Seeming to remember a picture a couple of years ago of some Bloke in the back row with a Helicon.)

The rehearsals are very intense, and (heck, maybe because we don't "live" with each other) everyone gets along famously  . (Except for the tuba player) the artistry is extraordinary. The strings are absolutely phenomenal, etc., as is every section.

For about an hour beginning around 12:12 P.M. ("noon") today C.D.T - March 19th, you can hear us do our first reading (rehearsal) of the Dvorak New World streaming on the internet on WKNO FM: http://www.wknofm.org/ListenLive.html
Thanks for this info. I listened for awhile and it was very impressive. The group sounded great, including the tuba!

Let's start negotiating right now, unless you you are afraid of showing how weak your hand is!!!
Instead of talking to your plants, if you yelled at them would they still grow, but only to be troubled and insecure?
