I installed push-button water keys on my first and third valve slides on my old 1940 top action three valve King besides the origonal one on the tuning slide.
I did not put one on the second valve (tiny) slide. Of course the second valve slide is the one that loads up with "condensation". Sometimes I can blow really hard and move the juice to another slide that has a drain.
If not, the old King spin (twice to port) is the only solution to remove the solution.

yep that little knuckle off the 4th vavle is where 80% of the water probably collects, at least in the valves. I usually take out the 4th valve and drain it out the valve rather than do the spinning.

When I hear the gurgle, I drain the water keys, empty the slides, and if I still hear it, I will pull the valve - usually the third or fourth - and spring a blow the water that collects at the bottom of the valve case or tilt the tuba to drain any out of the tubing. I have become very adept at un-screwing my valve caps and screwing them back on.

Re: towards less King-spinning
I must have the only King 2341 that DOESN'T collect water there. I get lots and lots of water in the tops of the #1 and #3 slides - but I really have to work to get anything to come out of the water key at the very bottom
of the 4th slide. I have to hold the horn STRAIGHT up and down, and rock it ever so gently from side to side.
It really does amaze me how much water comes out with the top of the #3 slide - when that slide has been pointing nearly straight up the whole time! But...it does. Even more appears when I tilt it on my left knee - it just pours out of #3 (and, to a lesser extent, #1).
On the Conn 36J, on the other hand, I haven't found water collecting ANYWHERE.

Re: towards less King-spinning
Lee Stofer added a spit valve exactly like what Joe has shown here to my horn. He also added one to the third valve slide just above. While it has helped it has not eliminated the problem. When I spin it after using all the spit valves I still get an amazing amount to dump in the second valve slide. On a wonderful horn, that is a great example of the breed, this is my only complaint, but it is an annoyance that I'd like to eliminate.

Re: towards less King-spinning
I had a spit valve put there as well, but it didn't completely solve the problem. The spin was still necessary after playing for an extended period.
I will also add this to the thread on horns you shouldnt have let go....sigh.
