Snakes are noiseless, odorless, and non-allergenic.
You don't have to let them out late at night, have a big yard, or take them to a kennel when you go on vacation.
They are extremely cheap to keep: no vaccinations or registrations, no diseases to worry about, and only need a meal every few days or so.
They can be very tame (like mine) and accustomed to being handled and being around people, but won't care if you never pet them or don't have time for them today.
That said, they're obviously not the perfect pet. They don't play fetch or wag their tails when you come home and aren't good with children. But I think snakes are incredibly beautiful, fascinating animals and really enjoy having mine!
