Young Harris College is seeking an Adjunct Instructor of Tuba/Euphonium. The ideal candidate will be an exceptional artist and pedagogue to teach applied Tuba and Euphonium. This adjunct faculty appointment will begin August 16, 2012. Job description and responsibilities: The successful candidate will teach undergraduate tuba and euphonium students for (approximately 3-6 hours) with the possibility of teaching brass related classes and coaching various brass ensembles; participate in juries, recital pre-hearings, recruiting, and, when possible, auditions. Qualifications: The applicant must have demonstrated excellence in teaching and a successful record of professional performance experience and a minimum of a Master's Degree in tuba or euphonium, or a Master's Degree in music education with an emphasis in tuba or euphonium.

Department and University: An academic unit within the College of Liberal Arts, the Department of Music is comprised of 20 full-time and 22 part-time faculty members that include 4 full-time brass faculty positions and a highly active faculty brass quintet. A fully accredited member of the National Association of Schools of Music, the Department serves 230 music majors and offers BM degrees in Performance, Music Education, and Music History/Literature; the BA in Music degree (general, pre-med, or computer science emphases); MM degrees in Performance, Conducting, and Music Education; and the MH (humanities) degree in Music.
