Job Title: Tuba/Euphonium

Rank: Asst. Professor

Serve as instructor of applied tuba and euphonium for both undergraduate and graduate students. Perform as part of the Western Brass Quintet. Maintain a record of performance and professional activities necessary for tenure. Recruitment and service appropriate for a university faculty member.
Doctorate required. (Masters degree with significant progress toward the doctorate or professional experience equivalent to doctoral work will be considered).Demonstrate excellence in, and commitment to, performance as both a solo and ensemble artist on the tuba. Demonstrated success as a teacher in both tuba and euphonium is required, preferably at the university level. Strong interpersonal, communication, and collaborative skills. Maintain an active career in his or her professionPossess strengths and interest in teaching other courses of the standard music curriculum. Possess experience and interests in teaching related supplementary areas such music technology, entrepreneurship, arts business, etc.

Start Date: August 2012

The Rowan University Department of Music is seeking to fill a part-time Euphonium studio teaching position. This person will be responsible for teaching applied Euphonium lessons and contributing to recruiting efforts. Membership in faculty performing ensembles is also possible.

Qualifications:

A graduate degree in music or equivalent is required.

Starting Date: September 1, 2012

Salary: $1200/credit

Interesting. I wonder what would prompt Mike Roylance to leave. Seemed like a very nice place and a good gig when I visited New Haven a couple of years ago.

It appears Tom Lukowicz has won the Wright State job, and his former student John DiCesare took his position at Kent State University. Congrats to these great players!

Not sure, at the moment. Stephen Kunzer, the previous instructor left this past year, yet currently he is listed as adjunct on their faculty page.

I'll be sure to inform you if I hear any news about the position, though.

Dan Brown will be taking over the UNLV Tuba and Euphonium studio this coming year, I will be headed out to Oklahoma State University.
