Cleaning deposits from a mouthpiece?

Post by bort »

I just bought a used mouthpiece, and after I cleaned it, there is still some sort of hard deposit that remains on the bottom of the cup. I'm really not sure what it is, but it appears to be something on the mouthpiece.

What could I use to remove this from the mouthpiece, that would also be safe for the silver plating?

Thanks! :tuba:

Tried that, no luck. Will try vinegar next.

Vinegar did the trick. A little polish and it looks like new!

The wife hates that smell of white vinegar sitting on the counter, but I've never seen it to fail to clean up a mouthpiece.

Particularly on Mother's Day, then, be sure and leave some sitting out on the counter...certainly NOT in the carport/garage, deck/porch, or storage shed. :tuba:  :P
With our dumb cats, outside is not an option! They would probably like the taste.

One of the worst problems what we continuously encounter around here is "keeping our cats from getting into the vinegar".
You mock, but until you have met a Jersey cat, you truly haven't lived! Must be all the toxic waste just layin' around! :)
