Is this some new technology in horn makeing that I am aware of ?

I don't see what your problem is...

The first is a wooden keyed instrument, like a serpent, only smaller. They could have been more accurate and called it a 'worm', but that probably wouldn't translate well, either. 'deluxe super ebony preying mantis squeek-thing'?

The second often infrequently hits the right note, despite the attitude of the player. Copper is just an English policeperson.

That's probably exacerbated by the "fuzzy logic" valves (valve 1.0 looks to be about 40% depressed ... no doubt the player is too). :P
