Mowed the lawn for the first time today and while doing so saw a guy deliver a Pizza in a CHERRY Mercedes 380SL. Only in Vegas.

Got mine done yesterday. Got a tidy little refund coming my way too.

Played Carmina Burana and Symphonic Metamorphosis last night. Got home at 11:30 P.M. A ten hour drive to Denton, TX today. Arrived at 7:30 P.M. for 8:00 rehearsal which ended at 11:00 P.M. Voertman Concert Hall sounds great, as does the triple-low C on their Bosendorfer.

On the way to Denton, a spare car (and tuba) were left in Memphis at a house close to the Cannon Center so I can get to the Tuesday night Rite of Spring rehearsal by 7:30 (assuming we leave Texas by 8:30 A.M), and so Mrs. bloke can drive on home without sitting through that rehearsal.

Drove to Fort Worth and checking email.

Tired.

Goodnight.

Spent the better part of the weekend installing a keyless entry/remote starter/immobilizer bypass on my wife's 10 year old Civic. What prompted this was that her door lock cylinder started jamming up due to a bent wafer inside.
Next time, I will just replace the lock cylinder!

I think there will be four. Memphis is doing CSO's "Beyond the Score©" thing (' beats rehearsing an overture and a concerto, I guess...)

I'm using a 5450 for all of the parts that "kick" the orchestra (with the timpani) and some other stuff like that. I'm using the F tuba for the anaerobic and target-shooting sections.

well...

...It couldn't have worked out more like I hoped it would:

IF Brian Bowman comes to your recital, only find out AFTERWARD that he was sitting in the audience.

Came across some OLD pictures. During the month of March in 1979, gas hit $1/gallon in Syracuse NY. The old Kodak B/W print has the month and date stamped on the side of the picture of me standing next to my Mom's VW 412 Wagon in front of the pricing sign giving Mobil the Universal One Finger Salute. Man, have I gone gray.

I will tell you something that will be more interesting to you than whether-or-not I sucked:
After speaking to him backstage when the thing was over and expressing to him what a monolithic
legend he was to me (as I had first heard him perform on his satin-silver Besson as a soloist with
Navy Band at my high school when I was in the 11th grade, and with his gracious acceptance of
my adulation), he and and I left the building for the parking lot at the same time. It was 9:30 P.M.
He had his euphonium in one hand and a briefcase in the other hand...
...to go home and practice. :|

How one becomes a musician . . .
One of the questions from the career placement test given applicants for music school.
"Rearrange the letters P N E S I to spell out an important part of the human body that is more useful when erect!"
Those who spelled 'spine' become doctors....the rest went to music school.
